On April 11, 2012 the owner of a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle reported it stolen from the 3000 block of Park Center Drive in Alexandria, Virginia. An officer with the Alexandria Police Department responded to the scene and, after conducting a preliminary investigation, obtained all of the necessary information, including the Suzuki’s vehicle identification number.

On March 9, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle reported the bike stolen to the Austin Police Department. After completing a stolen vehicle report, Austin officers had the Suzuki’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle.
