Austin Police Quickly Recover Suzuki Motorcycle — Stolen for the 2nd Time in One Month

On March 9, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle reported the bike stolen to the Austin Police Department. After completing a stolen vehicle report, Austin officers had the Suzuki’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Within hours, officers with the Austin Police Department picked up the Suzuki’s silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer installed in their vehicle. Following the computer’s directional and audible signals, the officers tracked and located the stolen motorcycle abandoned on the side of the road. The motorcycle was recovered in good condition, with only minor damage to the ignition.
This is the second time in less than a month that this motorcycle has been stolen and recovered, thanks to the LoJack system. The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed at the previous owner’s request on January 12, 2007.
