Arrest Warrant Pending for Thief of Suzuki Motorcycle Stolen in Arlington, TX

On the morning of March 1, 2012, the owner of a 2007 Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle discovered that his bike had been stolen in Arlington, Texas and immediately contacted the Arlington Police Department to report the theft.
Arlington Police prepared a stolen vehicle report and had this information entered into the state and federal crime databases. This routine police action automatically and seamlessly activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the motorcycle The transponder then began to emit a silent homing signal to police vehicles in the area equipped with LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC).
Sometime later, Tarrant County Task Force detectives picked up the silent LoJack tracking signal from the stolen Suzuki on their LoJack PTCs. Following the computer’s tracking cues, the detectives tracked the stolen motorcycle to a house in Wise County, outside of the LoJack coverage area. The owner of the home gave detectives her consent to search the house; inside the garage, the detectives found the motorcycle, parked beside a second bike – a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle which was also stolen from Arlington. This remains an ongoing investigation, and one suspect has been identified. An arrest warrant is pending.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Suzuki motorcycle at Yamaha Suzuki & BMW of Hurst on October 9, 2007.
