The owner of a Nissan Quest contacted the Riverside Police Department to report that he was parked and sleeping in his van when he was awaken after a suspect entered the van and damaged the ignition. The suspect told him to exit the van and fearing for his safety he exited.
The Riverside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later, officers from the Riverside and Rialto Police Departments picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan in the city of Riverside. The Rialto PD made the traffic stop and the Riverside PD arrested the suspect for Carjacking, vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Quest in November 1993 at Performance Nissan in Duarte, California.
