The owner of a 2015 BMW X1 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Within 24 minutes officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to the 5900 block of Rancho Mission Road in San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW in February 2015 at BMW of San Diego in California.
