San Diego, California Police Recover Stolen Lexus SC430 in One Hour, 34 Minutes, Assisted by the LoJack® System

There’s an old saying- “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst”. We all hope that we never experience vehicle theft- but it’s too common a crime not to be prepared for. The San Diego resident in this case hoped he would never have to deal with this crime, but he was prepared for it by having the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his Lexus SC430, so when the worst DID happen, his local police, with the help of LoJack, were able to recover his car in just over 90 minutes.
On September 10th, 2013, the owner of the Lexus contacted the San Diego Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Lexus, which was installed at Lexus Carlsbad in Carlsbad, CA, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, SDPD officers picked up the homing signals from the Lexus on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to Pierce Way in San Diego. One suspect was taken into custody. The owner was very happy to have his undamaged SC430 returned to him so quickly.
