LoJack Helps San Diego Police Recover Stolen Acura TL, Found Abandoned & Undamaged

On December 29, 2012, the owner of a 2006 Acura TL contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Acura.

Within minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Acura TL on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a residential area at the 5500 block of Geneva Street at Beverly Street in the city of San Diego.   

The owner was very happy when police contacted him to inform him that the vehicle was recovered abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $20,125.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Acura TL on December 2, 2006 at Hoehn Acura in Carlsbad, California.
