Mercedes Benz ML320 Stolen and Recovered in Aurora CO by Police Using LoJack

When the owners of a 2011 Mercedes Benz ML320 discovered that their vehicle had been stolen, they immediately reported the theft to the Aurora Police Department. Aurora Police completed a stolen vehicle report and had the Mercedes’ information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Mercedes. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to take any further action to initiate the police’s tracking of the vehicle, as LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
A short while later, officers with the Aurora Police Department began to pick up the Mercedes’ silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol cars. Following the directional and signal strength cues provided by the tracking computer, the officers tracked the vehicle to an alley near Warren and Havana. There, they located the parked and unattended vehicle.
The Mercedes was safely returned to the very happy owner.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Mercedes at a previous owner’s request in August 2001 in California.
