On September 17, 2012, the owner of 2001 Honda Accord contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD) to report that their vehicle was stolen during a car-jacking in Lomita. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the Honda’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder
