The Lexus IS 350 in this case was stolen from its owner’s workplace late on a recent Tuesday morning. This victim discovered firsthand what a good idea it was to protect his car with the LoJack® system when he purchased it. With LoJack’s help, it took only a half hour after activation for local law enforcement to recover it.

On February 18th, 2014, the owner of the Lexus reported the crime to Berkeley Police. Officers verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the IS 350, which was installed at Lexus of Roseville, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, California Highway Patrol units and Union City Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The Union City officers located the Lexus driving southbound and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested and the undamaged IS 350 was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
