The California resident in this case was working the late shift when he discovered that his keys were missing and his 2014 Toyota Corolla had been stolen from his employer’s parking lot. It had been less than six months ago when he had the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his car. That turned out to be a very wise decision. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the Corolla in only seven minutes after activation.

On March 3rd, 2014, the Toyota’s owner reported the crime to local police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Toyota of Downtown Los Angeles, CA.

Just a few minutes later, patrol officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Toyota parked and unoccupied on North Spring Street. The undamaged Corolla was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
