When the Selma, CA residents in this case found their Honda Civic EX missing one Monday morning, they were glad they had decided to have the LoJack® system installed in their car. Local police, with LoJack’s help, were able to retrieve the Civic in less than two hours after activation.

On December 4th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Selma Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic.

Less than two hours later, a patrol officer from the Sanger PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his police vehicle. The officer tracked the Honda to the parking lot of a shopping center, where it was parked and unoccupied. After a short surveillance, a male approached and tried to unlock the driver’s side door. Officers took the suspect into custody and soon returned the undamaged Civic to its relieved owner.
