Escondido, California Police Recover Stolen Toyota Yaris Assisted by the LoJack® System

The Escondido, CA resident in this case discovered his Toyota Yaris missing in the wee hours one Wednesday morning. The LoJack® system installed when he purchased his vehicle came to the rescue. Local police activated the LoJack and with its help recovered the Yaris in just four hours and 40 minutes.

On October 9th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Escondido Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Yaris, which was installed at Toyota of Temecula Valley, CA.

A short while later, officers from the Escondido PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Katella and Oakhill Drive in Escondido.  They recovered the undamaged Yaris and returned it to its very happy owner.
