The Visalia, CA residents in this case slept in on Saturday morning, and woke up to find their Honda Civic missing from where they had parked it, in front of their home. The LoJack® system installed in the Civic came to the rescue, helping local police recover their car the same day it was reported.

On September 7th, 2013, the Honda’s owners reported the crime to the Visalia Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System and the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Honda North in Clovis, CA.

A short while later, an officer with the California Highway Patrol picked up homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Honda was tracked to a citrus orchard north of Farmersville, where it was parked and abandoned in the middle of the orchard. The Civic was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owners.
