The owner of a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee got a terrible shock one Sunday morning when he exited his home to find his car missing from where he had parked it the previous evening. When he purchased the Jeep a little over four months ago, he made the decision to have the LoJack® system installed. This was a wise choice on the owner’s part, because, with the assistance of LoJack, local law enforcement recovered the vehicle in less than an hour after activation.

On September 22nd, 2013, the Jeep’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Jeep, which was installed at Poway Chrysler Jeep Dodge, in Poway, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a lot in a commercial area on University Avenue, where they found the car parked and abandoned. The owner was very happy when San Diego Police contacted him to advise that the vehicle was recovered undamaged. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was valued at approximately $28,800.
