Pierce County, Washington Sheriff’s Department Recovers Stolen 2013 Ford Fiesta in 13 Minutes Assisted by the LoJack® System

The Spanaway, WA residents in this case will surely be a lot more careful about whom they let into their home after this incident. An acquaintance of the family had stolen keys and other items of value while visiting, and two days later, their 2013 Ford Fiesta was stolen overnight. Thank goodness that when they purchased their car just seven months earlier, they decided to protect their investment with the LoJack® system. Thanks to LoJack and the local police, the Fiesta was recovered in just 13 minutes after activation.
On September 20th, 2013, the Ford’s owner called the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department to report the crime. Deputies verified the report and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Ford, which was installed at Lakewood Ford in Lakewood, WA.
Just minutes later, Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies and a Lakewood police officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. They located the vehicle being driven on Park Avenue South. The car turned onto a dead-end, and was stopped by several patrol cars. The female driver was taken into custody. The Fiesta was soon returned to its very relieved owners.
