The BMW 325i in this case was stolen on a late Sunday afternoon in Huntington Park, CA. The owners were grateful that they had decided to have the LoJack® System installed when they bought their car, because with LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover it in just over two and a half hours after activation.

On September 22nd, 2013, the BMW’s owners contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LACSD) Century Station to report their vehicle stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the 325i, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Carson, CA.

A short while later, deputies with the LACSD Century Station picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the BMW to Albany Ave. in Los Angeles, where they found it parked and unoccupied. After a short surveillance, a male entered the car and drove away. The deputies stopped drive away. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, who was also in possession of methamphetamine. The 325i was soon returned to its happy owner.
