The owner of the Scion xA in this case was naturally upset to find his car missing from his driveway one Monday evening. Luckily, he had the LoJack® system installed when he bought his xA, so police were able to recover it in a little over 90 minutes after activation.

On August 5th, 2013, the Scion’s owner contacted the Oceanside Police to report his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the xA, which was installed at Kearny Mesa Toyota in San Diego, CA.

A short while later, officers from Oceanside PD picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to a transit center parking lot in Oceanside, where it was found parked and abandoned. The owner was very happy to have his Scion returned to him in such a short amount of time.
