The Cadillac Deville in this story was stolen around lunchtime one Monday afternoon, and thanks to local police and the LoJack® system, was recovered in less than three hours after activation.

On July 29th, 2013, the Cadillac’s owner contacted San Diego Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. SDPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Deville, which was installed at Young Pontiac Cadillac in Escondido, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, officers from SDPD picked up the homing signals from the Cadillac on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Caddy to a commercial parking lot on Saturn Avenue in San Diego. A solo occupant was observed sitting in the driver’s seat. He was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. The undamaged Deville was soon returned to its happy owner.
