The victim in this next case got a Saturday morning shock when he awoke to find his Honda Civic EX missing. His local police made the situation a lot better for our victim when they recovered his car, with the help of the LoJack® system, in a little over two hours after activation.

On July 20th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. SDPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Civic EX, which was installed at Honda of Thousand Oaks in Westlake, CA.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego and National City Police Departments picked up the homing signals from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. National City officers tracked the vehicle to a residential area near East 24th Street. The driver was taken into custody. The owner was very happy to get his Civic EX returned to him.
