It’s unfortunate that auto theft has to happen at all, but it’s one of those unsavory events that does occur from time to time, so your safest bet is to have the LoJack® system installed when purchasing your car. These Fresno, CA residents did just that when they bought their Honda Accord, so, when it was stolen, it was recovered by police in less than a half hour after activation.

On June 27th, 2013, the Honda’s owners contacted Fresno Police to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Kramer Honda in Santa Monica, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, the flight crew of Air One, a Fresno PD Helicopter, picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in the aircraft. The flight officers tracked the Accord to northeast Fresno, and directed ground units, who located the abandoned Honda in a parking lot near CSU Fresno. The Accord was soon released to its very relieved owners.
