The LoJack® system helps law enforcement track down stolen vehicles, and often will lead to the apprehension of not only the thief who stole the car, but other criminal suspects as well.

On June 8th, 2013, the owner of a Honda Accord contacted South Gate, CA Police to report their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department East LA Station were on patrol when they picked up the homing signal from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computer in their patrol vehicle.  They requested Air Support from LASD Air-8 who responded and soon located the vehicle parked on Second St. The flight officers a male exit the passenger side, enter another vehicle and drive off.  The deputies detained the suspect driving the Civic as well as the former passenger, who was under the influence of a narcotic and driving with a suspended license.  The Honda was soon returned to its relieved owner
