The LoJack® System Helps Los Angeles Police Recover Stolen Chevrolet Tahoe

The LoJack® System was created as a tool for law enforcement to utilize in retrieving stolen vehicles, but often they locate additional things. In this case, police locate an SUV, plus a few other items.

On April 11th, 2013, these Gardena, California residents returned home to find their house had been burglarized, property stolen and their Chevrolet Tahoe gone.  They contacted the Gardena Police Department to report that their house had been broken into and their vehicle was stolen.

The Gardena PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Chevrolet, which was installed at Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, CA.

A short while later, a Police Airship picked up the homing signal from the victim’s stolen SUV on their LoJack tracking computer. The crew directed ground units to the Chevy’s location at 65th and Figueroa Street where two suspects were apprehended. The Tahoe, along with property taken from the home, was recovered and soon returned to the grateful owners.
