Santa Ana Police Use LoJack to Recover Stolen Toyota Sienna, Arrest One Suspect

On November 30, 2012, the owners of a 2003 Toyota Sienna contacted the Santa Ana Police Department to report their vehicle had been stolen.
Santa Ana Police verified the theft and entered the Toyota’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.
A short while later, Santa Ana officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota at they reached the area of Fairview and Segersprom Streets. After broadcasting the information to assisting units, the officers continued tracking the signal to a residential neighborhood located in the 2500 block of S. Maddock Street. There, they observed the Toyota, parked at the curb. As the officers approached, they observed a male adult sleeping in the vehicle. He was taken into custody without further incident. He refused to talk to the officers, and was apparently on probation.
The vehicle was released to the victim undamaged and was valued at $8,900.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Toyota Sienna on December 7, 2002 at Sheridan Toyota.
