Concord Police Use LoJack to Recover Scion TC Stolen in San Francisco, Suspect Arrested

On November 30, 2012, the owner of a 2013 Scion TC had his vehicle stolen from the street in San Francisco while it was momentarily left unattended.
San Francisco Police verified the crime information and entered the Scion’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle. LoJack is the only theft recovery system that is directly operated by law enforcement and this interface is seamless and instantaneous.
A short while later, officers with the Concord Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which permits them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.
Concord officers then tracked the stolen Scion in traffic, where it was being driven by the suspect. The officers stopped the car, arrested the thief, and notified the owner to recover his undamaged car.
