LoJack Aids Ventura Police in Recovery Nissan Sentra Stolen in Car Jacking, Suspects ID’d

On October 5, 2012, the owner of a 2005 Nissan Sentra contacted the Oxnard Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in a carjacking.
Oxnard Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Nissan.
Minutes later, officers from the Ventura Police Department and detectives from the California Highway Patrol VenCATT’S ( Ventura County Auto Theft Force), picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Nissan on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles, and portable trackers used by the detectives. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the vehicle was tracked and located in the area of Johnson Drive and Hummingbird, in the City of Ventura. The detectives conducted an investigation, and after interviewing the victim, were able to identify a female suspect that was involved. They also identified two male suspects, whom they continue to search for. This remains an ongoing investigation.
The Nissan was recovered, processed for evidence and released to the owner. Value of this recovery is $7,825.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Nissan Sentra on November 30, 2005 at Team Nissan, in the City of Oxnard, California.
