On July 21, 2012, the owner of a 2005 Ford F250 pickup truck contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report his vehicle stolen. Riverside County deputies verified the theft and entered the Ford’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Ford F250 Truck on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a commercial area near Kearny Villa Road in San Diego.  The officers observed two male suspects in the vehicle; both were placed under arrest for vehicle theft.

The owner was very happy when police contacted him to recover the vehicle, which was found undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $20,775.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Ford, F250 Truck in April of 2005 in Lake Elsinore Ford in Lake Elsinore, California.
