LoJack® System Helps Fontana Police Department Recover Stolen Honda Civic

The owners of a 1999 Honda Civic contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their place of work.
Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.
Twenty three (23) minutes later, patrol officers from the Fontana PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of the 9200 block of Alder Ave. The Honda was parked in the driveway with the suspect looking inside the vehicle. A few minutes later the suspect drove the stolen Honda away from the residence followed by another person driving a Toyota Camry. The officers followed the stolen Honda and found it stopped at Tamarind and Pinedale. The suspect was observed walking away from the Honda and was taken into custody for auto theft related charges.
The Honda was released to the happy owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in January 1999 at Metro Honda in Montclair, California.
