The owners of a 2016 Mazda CX5 contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Central Division to report that their vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

In less than 11 minutes, officers from the LAPD Hollenbeck Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Mazda to Alhambra Rd and Johnston where the vehicle was located parked and unoccupied. The Mazda was taken to the Police Department garage and later released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Mazda CX5 in July 2015 at Galpin Lincoln Mercury Mazda in Valencia, California.
