The owners of a 2005 Toyota Sequoia contacted the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short time later, patrol officers from the LAPD Devonshire division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the area of the Havenhurst and the 118 Freeway. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the Toyota and took two suspects into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.
The Toyota was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Sequoia in January 2005 at Northridge Toyota in California.
