The owner of a BMW 325I contacted the Coronado Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence in the city of Coronado.
The Coronado PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Within 8 minutes of the activation, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to a church parking lot located in the 1000 block of Beardsley Ave. in San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW in August 2004 at BMW of San Diego in California.
