The owner of a Chevrolet Malibu contacted the Madera Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The Madera PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Less than 30 minutes after the Chevrolet was entered into the stolen vehicle system an officer from the Fresno Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Chevrolet to a residential area near Cornell and Ila Avenues in northwest Fresno. The Chevrolet was found unoccupied and abandoned on the side of the road.

The Chevrolet was recovered intact and undamaged; it was stored pending release to the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Malibu in May 2010 by Hedricks Chevrolet in Clovis, California.
