The owners of a local car dealership conducted an inventory and discovered five new vehicles had been stolen off of the lot. The dealership contacted the Lodi Police Department to report that the vehicles had been stolen.

The Lodi PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in two of the stolen vehicles.  The other three did not have LoJack Systems installed.

Less than 30 minutes later, flight officers with the California Highway Patrol Air 21 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the Gray stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Scion to the area near Cluff and Lockeford streets in Lodi where they observed it parked and abandoned near a large metal building.  At the same time a patrol vehicle from the Lodi PD arrived and the Scion was recovered.  It did not appear to sustain any damage and was released to the owner.

The CHP Air unit was also receiving the signal from the Black stolen Scion and now turned their attention to tracking that one.  Simultaneously they overheard on their scanner that the Tracy Police Department was actively tracking the Black Scion so they diverted to handle another call.

The Tracy PD was now tracking the Black Scion and within minutes tracked, located it parked and abandoned near Lowell St and Tracy Blvd in a school parking lot. The Scion appeared intact and did not appear to sustain any damage. It was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Gray Scion in May 2015 and the Black Scion in April 2015. Both were installed by Lodi Toyota in California.
