The owners of a Honda Accord EX contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the unincorporated area of San Diego.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 10 minutes, officers from Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda near the 600 block of East H Street. A traffic stop was initiated and a suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. The suspect had eleven prior convictions for vehicle theft.

The Honda had previously been stolen twice, tracked and recovered with LoJack® System.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda in November 2011 by Hoehn Honda in Carlsbad, California.
