The owners of a 2008 Honda Civic contacted the Anaheim Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  A spare key to the Honda was removed from the owners Jeep, which was burglarized.

The Anaheim PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later officers from the Garden Grove Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to a residence on Garden Grove Boulevard in Garden Grove.  The officer tracking the Honda broadcast his LoJack activation and assisting officers drove into the area.  The officers detained four subjects in and next to the stolen Honda.  Two of the subjects were crouched down to the front of the stolen silver Honda Civic and another white Honda Civic parked next to the stolen Honda. The white Honda Civic belonged to one of the detained subjects.  The detained subjects were in the process of switching front bumpers from the stolen silver Honda Civic onto the white Honda Civic.  The white Honda Civic’s bumper appeared to be damaged from a collision.  All four subjects were arrested, with some having prior auto theft arrests.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in August 2008 by Buena Park Honda in California.
