The owners of a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta contacted the Los Angeles Police Department-Mission Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

A short later, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Santa Clarita patrol deputies picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Jetta to the area of Del Monte and Mc Bean Parkway.  The Jetta was located parked on the street and had been abounded by the suspect.

The Jetta was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen Jetta in August 2013 by Galpin Volkswagen in North Hills, California.
