Acura RSX Stolen from Downtown San Francisco, Recovered within Minutes, Undamaged

On March 14, 2012, the owner of a 2005 Acura RSX discovered that his car was stolen from where it was parked in downtown San Francisco. The owner called the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) to report the theft.
San Francisco officers completed a stolen vehicle report, and had this information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically and seamlessly activated the LoJack transponder hidden in the stolen Acura. Neither the owner nor law enforcement had to do anything else to activate the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Network, because LoJack’s interface with law enforcement is both seamless and instantaneous.
Within minutes, SFPD officers, equipped with LoJack’s Police Tracking Computers, were already picking up the silent LoJack tracking signal from the stolen Acura one mile from where the Acura was stolen. Following the directional cues on the computer, the officers located the stolen Acura, abandoned on the street. The owner was contacted to reclaim his undamaged vehicle.
