When the owners of a 2007 Jeep Wrangler discovered that their vehicle had been stolen on the morning of March 26, 2012, they immediately reported the theft to the Arapahoe County Sherriff’s Office. After completing a stolen vehicle report, the Sheriff’s Office had the Jeep’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems.

On March 14, 2012, the owner of a 2005 Acura RSX discovered that his car was stolen from where it was parked in downtown San Francisco. The owner called the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) to report the theft.  San Francisco officers completed a stolen vehicle report, and had this information entered into the state
