Jeep Wrangler Stolen in Colorado Recovered Undamaged in Less than an Hour

When the owners of a 2007 Jeep Wrangler discovered that their vehicle had been stolen on the morning of March 26, 2012, they immediately reported the theft to the Arapahoe County Sherriff’s Office. After completing a stolen vehicle report, the Sheriff’s Office had the Jeep’s information entered into the state and federal crime computer systems. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Jeep. Neither the owners nor law enforcement agents had to take any further action to initiate the police’s tracking of the vehicle, as LoJack’s interface with the police is both seamless and instantaneous.
Just 11 minutes later, officers with both the Aurora Police Department and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent homing signals from the Jeep on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol cars. Following the directional and signal strength cues on the tracking computer, the officers quickly tracked and recovered the stolen Jeep. The owner was very pleased that his Jeep was undamaged and returned to him in less than one hour.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Jeep Wrangler at the owner’s request in July 2008.
