The owners of a 2006 Honda Civic discovered that their car was stolen from in front of their home in San Jose, California.

The San Jose Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Less than 10 minutes later, the Santa Clara Auto Theft Task Force officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, detectives located the stolen Honda where it was parked on a side street in South San Jose.  Detectives set up surveillance on the stolen Honda.  A short time later two suspects approached the stolen Honda and attempted to drive away.  Police surrounded the stolen Honda and arrested both thieves.  The recovered stolen Honda was impounded for evidence collection later to be released to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Honda in March 2006 at Capital Honda in San Jose, California.
