The owners of a 2006 Scion Xb contacted the Lincoln Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated he went to the local high school to pick up his son.  Unfortunately when he went inside he left his keys in the ignition. When he returned minutes later he discovered his Scion had been stolen.

The Lincoln PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

A short while later officers from the Placer County Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles undercover task force cars and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Scion to the 1500 block of I Street. The Scion was parked and abandoned in a business complex.

The Scion did not sustain any damage. The victim was contacted and responded to the scene to take possession of his Scion.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion Xb in November 2006 at Capital Toyota in San Jose, California.
