Activation:        Oakland California
Recovery:         Emeryville California
Dealership:       Hayward Toyota California

The owners of a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder discovered that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment in Oakland, CA.

The Oakland Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Several hours later, while flying over the East Bay, the East Bay Regional Parks Police Helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the police helicopter located the stolen Nissan in the small City of Emeryville that borders Berkeley CA.  The Air Unit coordinated ground units to a hotel parking lot.  Officers surrounded the stolen Nissan and arrested both driver and passenger.  The owners of the stolen Nissan were notified of its recovery and the undamaged Nissan was released in the field.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2011 Nissan Pathfinder in August 2013.
