The owners of a 2013 Ford Fusion contacted the Los Angeles Police Department-Van Nuys Division                 to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, detectives from Los Angeles County TRAP West Team, picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Ford with the portable LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are assigned to their unit. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked and were able to pinpoint the vehicle to the rear of a private residence on Louvre Street in the City of Pacoima.  The occupant at the location was on felony probation and had two outstanding felony warrants. The detectives requested the gang unit from LAPD-Foothill Division to responded and assist with the search for the stolen vehicle. The detectives located the stolen Ford that was being stripped in the rear yard, covered by a tarp. The suspect was taken into custody for felony warrants. This investigation is still on going. The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford in September 2013.
