The owner of this classic 1965 Chevrolet Corvair contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division and reported that her classic vehicle had been stolen sometime during the night from in front of her home. The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Corvair.

A short while later Los Angeles Police Air Support (Air-3)flight officers picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen classic with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the flight officers tracked the vehicle to Arlington and Vermont Ave and notified ground units that they had located the vehicle parked and unoccupied on the street. Patrol units from Los Angeles Police South West Division responded as well as detectives from the Los Angeles County Taskforce for Regional Auto Theft Prevention and recovered the stolen Chevrolet Corvair.  The vehicle was processed for evidence and later released to the owner with only minor ignition damage.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Chevrolet Corvair in February 2009.
