The owner of a Mitsubishi Endeavor had a tough start to his weekend when he discovered his SUV was missing from his residence in Oceanside, CA, on a recent Saturday. Because this vehicle had been protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, local law enforcement recovered it and arrested two suspects in less than 10 minutes after activation.

On May 24th, 2014, the Mitsubishi’s owner contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Endeavor, which was installed at Murrieta Valley Mitsubishi in Murrieta, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies found the Mitsubishi on Grant Street in Vista. The driver and passenger were arrested, and the Endeavor was soon back in the possession of its happy owner.
