A 2011 Toyota Corolla was stolen from its owner’s residence in National City, CA on a recent Thursday. Local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased, recovered the car, without damage, in less than 10 minutes after activation.

On June 5th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the National City Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Frank Motors Toyota in National City, CA.

Just a few minutes later, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Toyota in a residential area of Imperial Beach, where it was parked and abandoned. The owner was thrilled to have his undamaged Corolla returned to him.
