The owner of a Honda Odyssey parked it in the lot at her gym and went inside for a workout. When she was ready to leave, she couldn’t find her keys. Unfortunately, another member did find them, then went out to the lot and stole her vehicle. It’s a good thing that this Odyssey had been protected by the LoJack® system when it was purchased. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the minivan and captured the suspected thief.

On May 27th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Monterey Park PD to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Odyssey, which was installed at Toyota of Carlsbad, CA.

A short while later, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Auto Theft Detectives picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen minivan with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They found the Honda parked and unoccupied on Verona Street in East Los Angeles. After a brief surveillance, detectives observed a suspect enter the vehicle and drive off. A traffic stop was performed and the suspect was taken into custody. The Odyssey was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
