The LoJack® System Helps El Cajon, California Police with Recovery of Stolen Toyota Corolla

When his Toyota Corolla was stolen from his residence in El Cajon, CA, this vehicle owner was grateful for the LoJack® system that had been installed when the car was purchased. Local police, with help from LoJack, were able to recover the Corolla just minutes after activation.

On March 9th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the El Cajon Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Toyota of El Cajon, CA, was then automatically activated.

Within six minutes, officers from the El Cajon PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was located driving on Oro Vista Street in El Cajon. A traffic stop was initiated and one suspect was detained. The undamaged Corolla was soon returned to its pleased owner.
