The owner of a 2016 Ford Mustang contacted the Carlsbad Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen in the city of Carlsbad. Carlsbad Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within a short time, officers from Carlsbad Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 800 block of Tamarack Avenue in the city of Carlsbad.  Carlsbad Police recovered the stolen Mustang and contacted the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang in May 2016 at Rancho Ford, Temecula, California.
