The owners of a 2003 Nissan Xterra contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of the hotel sometime overnight.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Thirty minutes later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to a neighborhood near 37th Avenue and Lincoln Street.

The stolen Nissan was found parked at a residence in the neighborhood. Contact was made at the residence and one suspect was detained without incident. The Nissan was recovered in good condition and returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Xterra in June 2003 at Casa De Gonzales in South Gate, California.
